The concept of ancient space technology, while seeming unlikely, prompts the question: is there evidence to suggest otherwise? The Sibiu Manuscript, uncovered in 1961, is a compilation of approximately 450 pages that contains, among other subjects, intricate details of three-stage rockets and concepts of manned rocket flight.

The Sibiu manuscript, an ancient document, is attributed to Conrad Haas, who is thought to have penned it sometime between 1550 and 1570. Conrad Haas was likely a military engineer in the service of the Kingdom of Hungary and the Principality of Transylvania. The document located in Sibiu is composed in German. It is widely believed to have been created using sources from even more distant origins.

The manuscript delves deeply into rocketry principles, featuring sketches of three-stage space rocket models. It provides instructions for producing liquid rocket fuel and it also includes details on the combination of fireworks with weapons, the design of fins in the shape of a hang glider as well as the creation of fuel mixtures with the use of liquid fuel.

Recognized as genuine, the manuscript is not questioned by experts, yet they remain reserved in their commentary on its substance. If antiquity researchers had not discovered additional unusual books and technologies, this case might have been dismissed as science fiction. Moreover, archaeologists have unearthed numerous artifacts indicating that our ancestors were far more advanced than modern historians acknowledge. Manuscripts like the Sibiu document can alter people’s perceptions of history.

It remains uncertain whether Haas successfully implemented his designs and realized them. Nonetheless, some believe that a rocket was launched in Sibiu in 1550. Reportedly, it took Haas over 25 years to construct a unique aircraft. Finding a fuel potent enough to lift it into the air posed the greatest challenge in this endeavor.

Conrad Haas wrote down a few interesting sentences in his manuscript in which he talks about the military use of rockets (translated):

“But my advice is for more peace and no war, leaving the rifles calmly in storage, so the bullet is not fired, the gunpowder is not burned or wet, so the prince keeps his money, the arsenal master his life; that is the advice Conrad Haas gives.”
